From the SKAT Membership Committee: Emma Brandt, Madeleine Pape (Chair), Argun Saatcioglu, Torsten Voigt

Can SKAT be a 650-member section? We think it can! The SKAT section is currently only 40 members short of the magic threshold of 600 members, which would give the section four sessions at the ASA Annual Meeting in San Francisco in 2025. Between now and August 2024, the Membership Committee will be rallying current members to get behind a series of membership drive actions. We are confident these will help us to not only meet the 600 member-threshold, but exceed it, creating a buffer to ensure we retain four ASA sessions into the future.
Over the next couple of months as ASA members start to think about renewing their ASA membership, we will be:
- Reaching out to lapsed members;
- Identifying non-members who presented on SKAT-aligned topics at the 2023 meeting;
- Asking you, fellow members, to assist in identifying potential junior members and contributing to their SKAT membership fee;
- Emailing new members to welcome them to the section and make them feel at home;
- Proposing that council consider how joint sessions in the future could help to expand and consolidate our membership.
We thank you in advance for supporting the #SKAT650 membership drive!
